Abstract

The petrochemical industry in modern conditions is one of the most dynamic and technologically significant sectors of the economy. Its role is determined not only by the scale of production, but also by the fact that it ensures the production of a wide range of products used in almost all areas of economic activity. Petrochemistry occupies a special place in the structure of the world market, since it is here that the processes of deep processing of hydrocarbon raw materials, the creation of materials with given properties and the introduction of innovative technological solutions are concentrated. The transition of mankind to a new technological structure, which is increasingly associated with the development of materials science, increases the importance of the petrochemical industry as the basic industry that forms the modern industrial environment. Despite external shocks, the Russian petrochemical industry demonstrates the ability to adapt and progressive development, which is confirmed by increased investment, recovery in production volumes and active import substitution. The main factors in the development of the industry are technological renewal, import substitution, consolidation of enterprises, as well as industrial safety and environmental requirements. Sustainability is becoming a key driver of value creation. In these conditions, the most effective tool is a cluster policy that allows you to combine resources, infrastructure and competencies of enterprises, scientific and educational organizations.
