Technology transfer efficiency factors in regional innovation systems: strategic choice of a model

2026 · ACCOUNTING AND CONTROL · Vol 8, pp. 44-56 · 0 citations

Abstract

Technology transfer is a fundamental mechanism for the commercialisation of intellectual activity results, bridging the gap between laboratory prototypes and serial production, and enabling the transformation of outcomes into marketable products and profit for the developer. At the level of regional innovation systems, it serves as a key driver of economic growth, facilitating the diffusion of knowledge among universities, research centres, industrial enterprises, and small innovative firms. The study systematises technological, economic, market, and cooperation factors influencing the strategic choice of a technology transfer model. Drawing upon the 10C model proposed by M.P. Galimova, groupings of these factors have been constructed to assess the viability of each of the five basic transfer models, taking into account the priorities and resource constraints of the technology donor. The scientific novelty of the proposed approach lies in the comprehensive integration of factors of diverse nature, their systematic alignment with instrumental models, and the substantive justification of the significance of each factor for the considered alternatives.
