Abstract

Abstract This paper presents the HEAIN Framework, an enterprise-grade intelligent network architecture designed to seamlessly combine the processing power of a centralized cloud with artificial intelligence at the network edge (Edge AI), on a fractal architecture that can grow freely, together with advanced safeguards that protect the system against failure and against fraud in many dimensions. The HEAIN Framework was developed through a series of four papers, from its theoretical foundations, through a standard framework for nodes and a real implementation, to the "Triad of Structural Immunities", together with the development of the heain-core engine from v1.0 to v1.2 and v1.3, which completed a full Proof of Concept (PoC) on real hardware (HP Z840). The resilience of the system rests on four core mechanisms: ● Role Ceiling: a hard gate before selection, which keeps nodes that do not meet the bar from ever holding keys or critical policy. ● Duty Profile: a soft gate after selection that never blocks promotion, but reduces duties to unavailable_duties when a machine lacks capacity, preventing cascading failure. ● Escalation Saturation: a governance gate that counts the request queue and detects drift on a "flag, never block" basis, preventing alert storms. ● P7 Sovereignty-Aware Swarm Broadcast: a channel for spreading knowledge across the network under the protection of all three gates, with a Sanitizer (3-strip and EmbeddingGuard) that respects and preserves data sovereignty. These results make the system ready to move to an Alpha release, opening Application Profiles (Layer 3) to interested parties and developers through heainframework.org, and leading towards international use. KTO: Model Alignment as Prospect Theoretic Optimization

This work proposes a HALO that directly maximizes the utility of generations instead of maximizing the log-likelihood of preferences, and suggests that the best loss depends on the inductive biases most appropriate for a given setting, an oft-overlooked consideration.

Gender, Race, and Intersectional Bias in Resume Screening via Language Model Retrieval

This work investigates the possibilities of using LLMs in a resume screening setting via a document retrieval framework that simulates job candidate selection and finds that the MTEs are biased, significantly favoring White-associated names in 85% of cases and female-associated names in only 11.1% of cases.
