TL;DR

T2D like model was established by inducing insulin resistance through knockdown of the insulin receptor in brain insulin-producing cells using the dilp2-Gal4>UAS-InRRNAisystem, which resulted in significant metabolic dysregulation, including elevated glucose, trehalose, and triacylglyceride levels, along with increased oxidative stress indicators.

Nomilin Ameliorates Insulin Resistance via Modulating the Glucose Metabolism and PI3K/Akt/GLUT4 signaling pathway in Type 2 Diabetes

Type 2 diabetes (T2D) became the most prevalent metabolic diseases worldwide characterized by insulin resistance (IR). Nomilin is a bioactive triterpene compound primarily found in citrus fruits and its anti-diabetes effect has been preliminary studied. This study combined network pharmacology, bioinformatics analy...

Orphan GPCRs in diabetes mellitus: metabolic control, inflammation, and drug development

Diabetes mellitus (diabetes) is a major health burden with the highest mortality rate, affecting an estimated 537 million adults worldwide. The treatment of diabetes remains complex owing to insulin resistance, β-cell dysfunction, metabolic inflammation, and progressive organ damage. While G-protein-coupled receptors (...

Metabolic reprogramming in diabetes and cancer: the role of PI3K/AKT/mTOR and beyond.

Diabetes mellitus and cancer are among the most prevalent chronic diseases worldwide, and accumulating evidence suggests a significant association between these conditions. The metabolic disturbances characteristic of diabetes, including hyperglycemia, hyperinsulinemia, insulin resistance, and chronic inflammation, cre...

Reprogramming Metabolic Dysfunction using Nanotechnology: Implications for Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes

Obesity and type 2 diabetes (T2D) represent a major globalhealth burden, with increasing prevalence linked to sedentary lifestyles, poor dietary habits, and genetic predisposition. These conditions are strongly interconnected through a range of metabolic dysfunctions, including insulin resistance, chronic inflammation,...

MIR192 upregulates GLP-1 receptor and rescues statin-induced impairment of insulin secretion

Statins are a commonly prescribed cholesterol-lowering drug class that can increase the risk of new-onset diabetes (NOD). The underlying molecular mechanisms have yet to be fully elucidated. We aimed to identify molecular factors associated with differential susceptibility to NOD and determine their effects on β-...
