TL;DR

Detailed morphological descriptions, illustrations, and phylogenetic trees clearly delineate two previously undescribed species within Minuticlypeus and Paravamsapriya, highlighting their distinct affiliations with existing species.

Abstract

Abstract Surveys of Xylariales fungi conducted in southwestern China resulted in the collection of several specimens from Yunnan and Guizhou Provinces. Morphological examination, together with multi-locus phylogenetic analyses based on combined ITS, LSU, rpb2, and tub2 sequence data, revealed that these specimens represent two previously undescribed species within Minuticlypeus and Paravamsapriya. These are introduced here as Minuticlypeus zunyiensissp. nov. and Paravamsapriya yunnanensissp. nov. Detailed morphological descriptions, illustrations, and phylogenetic trees clearly delineate these taxa, highlighting their distinct affiliations with existing species.

Nigropunctata xishuangbannaensis sp. nov. (Pallidoperidiaceae, Xylariales), a new species from bamboo in Yunnan, China

Nigropunctata xishuangbannaensis sp. nov. is introduced in this study, isolated from decaying bamboo culms in Yunnan Province, China. Multigene phylogenetic analyses based on five loci (ITS, LSU, rpb2, tub2, and tef1-α) place this taxon in a well-supported, distinct lineage clearly separated from closely related specie...

Two new species of Oberwinklerozyma and Rosettozyma (Microbotryomycetes) from Yunnan, southwestern China

Oberwinklerozyma and Rosettozyma comprise a relatively small number of described species worldwide. Although several novel species from China have recently been reported, the species diversity of these two genera remains incompletely understood. In this study, two novel yeast species, Oberwinklerozyma jinghongens...

Hyphoderma jingguense sp. nov. (Hyphodermataceae, Polyporales), a wood-inhabiting fungus from Yunnan Province, China

A new corticioid fungal species, Hyphoderma jingguense sp. nov., collected from a forest habitat in Yunnan Province, China, is described and illustrated based on morphological and molecular evidence. Morphologically, the species is characterized by ceraceous basidiomata with a farinaceous hymenial surface, a monomitic...
